Hi, I’m Dawn—a Celebrant with a big heart, a creative streak, and a total love for telling people’s stories.

I live in the gorgeous village of Great Ayton with my husband Mark, where we’re lucky enough to wake up to views of Roseberry Topping. When I’m not writing ceremonies, you’ll usually find me sewing handbags, upcycling old furniture, or styling our home with bright colours and quirky finds (I love a splash of personality in everything I do!).

After a long career in administration and management (where, let’s be honest, I spent more time colour-coding spreadsheets than creating anything joyful), I found myself at a crossroads. When the chance came to take voluntary redundancy, I took the leap—scary at any age, but especially in your 50s! Still, I knew there had to be more to life than office life.

Having planned my own wedding (and loved every detail), I’d often wondered about becoming a wedding planner. But it never quite fit. Then I discovered the world of Celebrants—and everything just clicked.

About Dawn

Creating meaningful

ceremonies together

Now, I get to do the thing I love most: work closely with couples and families to create one-of-a-kind ceremonies that feel personal, meaningful, and full of heart. Whether it’s a joyful wedding, a relaxed vow renewal, or a beautiful naming ceremony to welcome a much-loved little one (or mark an adoption)—I’ll help you tell your story in a way that feels truly you.

As a Celebrant, I bring a calm, friendly, and collaborative approach—getting to know you like a friend so I can craft a ceremony that’s as unique as you are. Whether you want something romantic and relaxed, full of laughter and happy tears, or with a few fun surprises, I’ll make sure your celebration feels real, heartfelt, and totally unforgettable.

No stuffy scripts. No copy and paste. Just beautifully bespoke ceremonies packed with love, personality, and meaning.

So if you’re dreaming of a wedding, naming day or celebration that breaks the mould and truly tells your story—I’d love to help.
